Unlike some other major sports leagues, the NFL runs one standardized clear-bag policy across nearly every stadium. Knowing the rules ahead of kickoff means fewer surprises — and a faster walk through security. Here's what's generally allowed:

What You Can Bring

Clear Bags: Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" (30.5 x 15.25 x 30.5 cm) are permitted. This covers clear totes, backpacks, fanny packs, and cinch bags that fit within those dimensions.
Small Non-Clear Bags: A non-clear clutch or wristlet up to 4.5" x 6.5", with or without a strap, is allowed — but it must be carried alongside an approved clear bag, not instead of one.
One-Gallon Freezer Bag: A standard one-gallon clear resealable bag (think Ziploc) is also permitted.

Outside of these three categories, bags like backpacks, diaper bags, and camera bags generally aren't allowed inside the gates unless medically necessary.

Important Considerations

This is a maximum, not a minimum — some stadiums enforce tighter limits, and a few restrict bags altogether. Every NFL team follows this standardized policy except the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, whose Raymond James Stadium has its own separate set of rules. Security protocols can also shift at short notice, so it's worth a quick check before you head out.
